Phase 1

• Engage coastal regulators, port authorities, and local environmental groups to recognize how climate-driven changes in wave patterns threaten shoreline infrastructure, ecosystems, and communities along the Gulf of Mexico.

• Present model-based evidence of increasing wave intensity and variability.

Phase 2

• Invite local authorities and marine operators to endorse non-binding “Wave Climate Awareness Pledges,” acknowledging the need for adaptive planning.

• Encourage small-scale monitoring and reporting initiatives (community tide-gauge programs, shoreline change observations) to inform future guidelines and support shared knowledge among coastal stakeholders.
