Phase 1

• Bring together federal and state energy regulators, utilities, and renewable energy developers to raise awareness of the interconnection bottleneck revealed by 38,000+ grid connection requests.

• Share simple data visualizations (e.g., backlog size, wait times, withdrawal rates) to highlight how delays jeopardize clean energy goals.

Phase 2

• Encourage regulators and grid operators to support a non binding “Interconnection Reform Pledge” to improve transparency, reduce uncertainty, and accelerate standards.

• Ask utilities and project developers to trial small-scale pilot reforms (e.g., faster queue processing, fixed-cost agreements, cluster studies) and publicly report outcomes and lessons learned.
