Phase 1

• To engage Bavarian farmers, agricultural advisors, and regional soil scientists to recognize the importance of soil organic carbon (SOC) benchmarks and management effects.

• Bring together farm associations, environmental NGOs, and local extension services to discuss soil health risks and opportunities. Distribute concise guides, host field demonstrations, and run short webinars on SOC-friendly practices.

• Encourage pilot farms to voluntarily monitor and share soil data for awareness.

Phase 2

• Invite stakeholders to adopt a non-binding “Soil Carbon Action Note” pledging to trial one SOC-positive practice (e.g., organic amendment, perennial forage, reduced tillage).

• Encourage simple monitoring: one representative annual soil sample and a short report of observed SOC change.
